Maruti will share Harsh Truth To Make You a Better Customer Support Specialist.

Customer support is one of the least appreciated job roles in any business, both by the customers and by the rest of the team. Most of us view customer support as something we “have to” do and never that we “get to” do. Customers can be rude, demanding, and challenging. This talk will discuss what a customer support tech or Happiness Engineer has to go through on a daily basis and how s/he can take all this in stride and continue performing. Far from bashing the customer or whining about how hard the job is, we instead will learn and understand why the customer behaves the way they do, and how as customer support techs we should handle those situations. This talk will discuss the science and psychology behind the communication between customers and support technicians, and how can we use the same to get better at it. Attendees will walk away with concrete steps to put in place to immediately begin seeing happier customers and healthier support technicians.

The Untold Story of HaoBhau

Jai WordPress Mandali!!

In the year 2017, Nagpur experienced its first WordCamp, and the experience was excellent. We conducted the various contests, among them mascot designing was one. Finalizing amongst the entries was a tight spot. We selected one and the name for the mascot was left unannounced but shared unofficially as HaoBhau. So here we are sharing details about HaoBhau.

Nagpurkars are proud believers of brotherhood. The “bromance” of Nagpurkars is very famous as it follows the “bro code”. However, the word “bro” suffers a Nagpuri touch. The brotherhood in Nagpur is maintained by referring their friends as “bhau”; the Marathi translation for “brother”.

The local dialect of Nagpur is very special and has its dictionary. In Nagpur, the word “Hao” is a derivation of two words of Hindi and Marathi: “Haa” meaning “Yes” in Hindi and “Ho” meaning “Yes” in Marathi. The phrase “Hao Bhau” meaning “yes bro” is most commonly used in Nagpur. Thus the mascot was named “HaoBhau”.

The mascot of WordCamp Nagpur 2017 resembled people of Nagpur grabbing one of the known monuments of the city – The Zero Mile Stone, which is the centre pillar of India. HaoBhau is seen enjoying monsoon with his umbrella. Credit for designing these Wapuu goes to Mukul Chaturvedi From Buzo Media Services. Wapuu Representing a Happy Camper in the first monsoon WordCamp of India 2017.

HaoBhau is fond of Jungle

The Wapuu of WordCamp Nagpur 2018 is a forest lover. He is an environmental activist who likes to wander in the jungles of Tadoba, Kanha, Pench – known forests reserves of India. This year he got his Jungle gears ON.

Make sure you have a selfie with him this year 🙂
