WordPress User group Nagpur hosted its first WordCamp Nagpur on 24th & 25th of June 2017. It was the first tech conference in the city and lovely experience for all of us.

We would like to thank each and every one of attendees for making WordCamp Nagpur a grand success.

What is Contributor Day?
Contributor day is after the Camp event, where all people from the community come together to contribute back to the lovely WordPress Software.

Why should you get Involved?
Last week, Nagpur faced the first ever tech conference, saw the different world outside the city. It’s time to be a part of a community, Enjoy the thrill of creating something used by millions of people across the world and the pleasure of being involved in democratising publishing.

Who can attend Contributor day?
Contributor day is for everyone, regardless your experience with WordPress. You have attended WordCamp or not, you are welcome to contribute back to the WordPress community.

WordPress is the user-driven project, and all developments and enhancements depend on users like you! Don’t ever feel that just because you don’t know how to code you’re not valuable as coders are. Because without us, WordPress would fall apart.

A healthy community is healthy on all levels, and everybody does know that.

Kaustubh will share how WordPress is the ideal platform to build a SaaS product.

Makarand will help you to make your themes and plugins ready for translation.

Makarand is General translation editor for Marathi language and active in the polyglot community.

In his talk, he will cover the procedure for preparing your Themes and Plugins ready for translation. Tools that you need to explore, standard structural format, functions to make your theme or plugin translation ready.

Localising WordPress themes and plugins isn’t something developers should simply dismiss. And if you’re a developer who doesn’t know how to localise a theme or plugin, then you should go for it.

 

Sukhada will share how to make people share the beautiful content you create

In this session, Sukhada will bust few myths around content marketing and explain how anyone with a vision can become a pro at killer content marketing. Content marketing moves people, pushes them towards sharing or similar actions and ultimately – drives commercial value for a brand/product.

Sukhada Chaudhary holds a post-graduate degree from Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) with a specialisation in advertising strategy. Having worked in the strategy teams for Lakme, Citibank and Skoda in the past 2 years, she has now moved back to Nagpur to become a digital marketing consultant for SMEs and is Partner & Content Head at Buzo Media Services.

She is an avid business quizzer and loves everything connected to Nagpur. She also heads Nagpur Foodies – a community of 50,000+ food lovers in the city and the only Co-Working space Chaos Theory in Town.

Abhijit will share adventures of WordPress as Headless CMS

Headless CMSs have been slowly gaining popularity for some time now. Even though WordPress is largely a presentational software it can be used as a headless CMS in a number of ways. Abhijit will give you an overview of the pitfalls and give you workarounds and some possible solutions of using WordPress as a Headless CMS.

Abhijit Rakas is a Nagpur-based web developer working for SANIsoft Technologies. He started his journey with WordPress in 2014. He is a major polyglot contributor for Marathi translations.

This Thane-based geek loves to create educational videos on his youtube channel TheCuriousEngineer. Earlier started as a place for Programming Tutorials & Tech Reviews, but later amazing science channels like Vsauce, Veritasium, MinutePhysics, SmarterEveryDay inspired him to make edutaining science videos.

Swapnil will clear misconceptions about WordPress Developers

In this talk, Jayman will introduce a methodology for thinking of our UIs as thoughtful hierarchies, discusses the qualities of effective pattern libraries, and showcases techniques to transform your team’s design and development workflow.
